Not Ashamed of the Gospel

We plan to hold the Australian Conference in the splendid venue of The Collaroy Centre, Homestead Avenue, Collaroy, Sydney, NSW, 2097. More information to be announced.

The purpose of this conference is the strengthening of like-minded ministers of different denominations. While the primary intention is to help preachers, it is open to all those — young or old — concerned for spiritual recovery and advance.  Apart from a limited number of rooms for married couples, we regret there is no overnight accommodation for single women.

Speakers

Peter Barnes

Peter Barnes was born in Bega, Australia, in 1953. He is married to Lyn and they have six children, eleven grandchildren on earth, and one in heaven. Peter was converted through reading Augustine’s Confessions and The City of God, and the book of Romans. He has written a number of books, including ‘The Gospel: Do Paul and Jesus Agree?’, ‘Athanasius: His Life and Impact’, and the booklet, ‘Abortion: Open Your Mouth for the Dumb’.

Troy Cane

Troy Cane was raised in a Christian home, coming to faith in Christ at age nine. He was sent by his home church in 2001 to church plant in Ipswich, Queensland, where he continues to labour in that Reformed Baptist congregation (Berean Bible Church). Troy and his wife Jenni, have four married children and three grandchildren.

Simon Manchester

Simon Manchester served at St Thomas Anglican Church, North Sydney, for thirty years and is now in happy and busy retirement. He is locum Senior Minister in a church in Sydney’s east, teaches at the Cornhill lay training course and takes up invitations as they come. His sermons continue (after twenty years) on Sydney radio. He is married to Kathy with three adult children and two grandchildren.

Andrew Stewart

Andrew Stewart was born and grew up in Northern Ireland. After studying Law and Theology, he was ordained in the Reformed Presbyterian Church and served congregations in Portrush (NI), Larnaca (Cyprus) and Geelong (Australia). He has written commentaries on First and Second Chronicles and Deuteronomy for the Welwyn Commentary Series. Andrew is married to Katie (originally from Xiamen, China) and they have two children.

Robert Strivens

Robert Strivens is pastor of Bradford on Avon Baptist Church, a congregation he has served since 2017. Before that, he was Principal of London Seminary for nearly ten years, and he continues to teach church history there. In 2016, Routledge published his ‘Philip Doddridge and the Shaping of Evangelical Dissent’. He is married to Sarah, and they have three married sons, and five grandchildren.

Registration – All wishing to attend for all, or part of the time, must do so through our Australian Conference registration page on or before Monday, 30th of January, 2023. If an alternative registration route is required, please email Joshua at info[at]banneroftruth.co.uk

Accommodation –  The Collaroy Centre provides a limited number of rooms that are much in demand, so early booking is essential. Room arrangements, with costings, are as follows (linen and towels included):

Cabin Shared (male only, 6 or 8 to a room): $310

Cabin Deluxe (male only, 3 to a room): $350

Hotel room (husband and wife): $720

Hotel room (single occupancy): $510

The cost to attend all two and a half days as a day visitor (including dinner on Day 1, and lunch and dinner on Days 2 and 3) is $160. Believers from the Sydney area are warmly invited to join us for evening sessions ($20 per evening).
